Chapter 13: Request of the potion maker (Part 4)

The next day.

I wake up in a soft bed and stand up. I look around the room and start to think where am I.

"My body still hurts... Ouch ouch ouch."

The door opened, Kaoru entered the room with breakfast with her. She placed the breakfast on the small table placed on the top of t bed I’m sleeping on.

"Good morning Laura… Last night sure is tough.”

She said and then walked toward the chair place near the window.

"Umm... Good morning Kaoru-san... Thank you for taking care of me last night. I was so tired and collapse."

"You did your best and save a lot of people. Helping you is an honor on my part.”

She said with an encouraging tone.

"But there are still people who died last night… I failed to protect them. If I were stronger it's not gonna happened. There are still people out there that are grieving because of the happening… And that's because I didn't defeat him quickly."

Also, those two monsters came from our town. I feel responsible for the happening. If Mayu and I didn’t accidentally cross the dark territory. This is not happening at all.

I'm quite depressed. I can’t even look properly at Kaoru's eyes. Big tears flow out of my eyes. The tears fell on the soup that was served to me as my breakfast.

My heart started to ache and tear won’t stop flowing. I use my hand to wipe my tears.

Kaoru walked toward me and give me a hand.

"Don't blame everything on yourself, Laura. Last night was no one’s fault. If someone is to blame for the death of the people it’s the monsters thems selves. Belle also tried her best to get some help in the guild, but no one is taking her seriously because she’s a kid."

"But still someone died..."

"Yes someone died but it's not your fault… It's not you're fault at all. It’s not you're fault that the monster attacked the area last night.”

Kaoru-san continued to help me using her words and give me a lesson to learn. She held me gently and look into my eyes kindly.

"Laura listen here, Bad things happened in this world every time and it's not your fault… In this world, there are things that you can't control.”

“Things that I can’t control…”

“Sometimes people make mistakes and it's normal. If you made a mistake, then just need to learn and don't do it again. That's how people grow. People learn from their mistakes… So stop worrying and move forward."

I suddenly hugged Kaoru and nodded.

"Ummm... I promise that I won't make the same mistake. I will learn from my mistake and someday I will learn."

"That's right, you will learn."

Kaoru patted my head and comfort me from crying.

Without noticing, I suddenly sneeze on Kaoru's clothes.

"Don't worry it's okay... Hehehehe… I’m not angry at all.”

Kaoru said with a forced smile on her face.

After that, I eat the breakfast Kaoru prepared for me and go downstairs afterward.

I then met Belle downstairs. With the potion bottle in he hand, she runs toward me.

"Thank goodness your okay, I will blame myself forever if something bad happened to you.

"Belle is really worried about you yesterday and treats your wounds last night."

After hearing that, I walked toward Belle and say.

"Thank you for treating me last night, and also... Don't worry about me. I'm all okay now. Thanks to Your sister."

"Really?"

"Yup."

I notice that the house Is quite empty and there are two big bags near the door.

"Belle, did you pick your things now?"

Asked Kaoru.

"Yes, I already packed my things. I'm ready to go."

Belle immediately replied.

“Ready to go? Are you two leaving the city?"

I asked.

"Well, I thought about this lately and I guess we have to this earlier. We decide to leave this city for good."

Kaoru replies.

"But you said the potion shop is something you inherited from your family before…"

"That's right, but I think Belle and I need to do something for ourselves… Potion-making is not really a job I want to do. It's just something I was forced to do and I don't like that feeling anymore. I want to make sweets and bake. That's my dream."

"Yup, I want to make bread too."

Said Belle with a cheerful voice.

"I'm planning on opening a bakery in Everfloria city. I heard the scenery of flowers is great there and the people are friendly. I guess we will make a good start there."

"Big sister, Let's go now we might lose the train to Everfloria."

Said Belle who seemed to be really excited about going to Everfloria City.

"Yes yes, I'm just going to get my lodgings... How about you little girl? Want to join us in opening a bakery?"

"Me? Ummm... Sorry but I have to pass. Like you... I have something I wanted to do. I also have a dream."

"That's expected from you, I'm quite sad because you're really likable and cute. I'm willing to adopt you as my new little sister…"

I'm stunned after hearing Kaoru's word and make a step back.

"... But if that's what you want, I'm not in a place to stop you."

After few hours of packing, we all leave the shop. Kaoru and Belle make their farewell to the house, they used to live in from the day they were born.

I feel like I also did this before in Rum town.

We leave the house and walked toward the near station. On the station, Kaoru, Belle, and I started to make our farewell.

"That was short, but it's really memorable experience. I will never forget you Kaoru-san and you to Belle."

"Same here Laura, But I have a feeling that we will meet later in the future."

"Yeah, after that we will play and bake cookies together."

Said Belle.

Kaoru gets something in her pocket and gives it to my hand.

"Mo-money?"

I'm surprised that Kaoru is suddenly giving me money in what so ever reason.

".. W-why I have to receive this large amount of money from you-"

"You save me remember, just think of it as a reward. I really thankful for meeting you."

"Big sister the train incoming!”

"Crap, We need to hurry… Okay Laura we need to go now."

"Bye-bye!"

"Bye-bye! Kaoru-san, Belle take good care."

We wave our hands to each other and they ride the train. The train started to move and leave the city.

I guess, I also need to keep move.

Witchport is the nearest city to the central state. I guess all I need to do is ride a train toward there.

"Okay, it's decided. Central state I'm coming there."

But when I'm about to get a ticket to the central state. The clerk said that the train to the central state is currently under maintenance and not in operation until the end of the month.

It's really a downer not to ride a train there, but the clerk told me the other way to get there.

“It’s twice the price of the ticket and a bit dangerous. You can ride a carriage heading to the central city… I don’t really recommend it because of the monster lurking outside of the city.”

“It’s fine I can handle it. Thank you for telling me.”
