âMy legs are still killing from standing during the party,â Dorothy kept repeating the same words for the past five minutes, since the jet started flying.âHey, you,â Elizabeth looked at Benjamin. âCan you not hear my momâs pain?ââYeah, her legs are hurting. I can hear that,â Benjamin said. âWhat can I do about it, though?ââYou should massage her legs,â Elizabeth said with entitlement. âSheâs old and doesnât have enough strength in her fingers, so you should help her.ââSorry, but canât you do that since sheâs your mother?â Benjamin asked what he thought was a valid question.âIâm not good at it,â Elizabeth blurted. âYou work at a pizza-shop, right? So, you must have the experience of squeezing dough. Just do the same but with more softness and less intensity.ââCanât you tell your kids to do the same?â Rebecca asked Elizabeth, clearly not liking how her sister-in-law was trying to make a slave out of Benjamin and also shame Rebecca at the same time. âIf you are going to say that th
âItâs been forty minutes,â Elizabeth was checking time on her 15K watch. âAnd thereâs no sign of him or anyone for that matter.ââYeah, this is very strangeâŠâ Dorothy was growing nervous. She looked at her husband, but Nolan was snoring loudly. He had drunk so much during the party, and now, he was down and out. Even if a thunderbolt were to crash right next to the jet plane, he might not wake up right now.Lisa and Roshan were playing a game on playstation.Selena was checking her mobile for a signal, but there was no signal. âLetâs say we wait for twenty more minutes, and he doesnât return. Then what?â she asked a question.âThen weâll grab whatever sharp objects we can,â Jacob said, âand get out together. As long as we fight together, we can chase even the wolves.ââI wish we at least had a gun,â Shawn said. âIt was foolish to come so far without a gun. This place is built on a mountain, so no one can hear us even if we shout. Going down the mountain is also too risky. We have to f
âItâs been fifteen minutes since the wolves left,â Benjamin said. âI think we can step out now.ââHow do you know that a few of them are not hiding from our sight?â Shawn said. âThey could be on top or under this jet, for all we know.ââIf itâs one or two, then we can easily scare them away with our numbers,â Benjamin said. His words made sense, but nobody said anything.âWe have to get the pilots, or weâll be stuck here,â Benjamin said. âIsnât it strange that nobody came to help us even though so many wolves attacked us?âHis words made everyone think. Jacob was already doubting what happened, and Benjaminâs words only strengthened that doubt.âNow that you said itâŠâ Shawn was also having the same doubt, but the women didnât think the same.âAre you saying that they let the wolves free to attack us?â Rebecca asked. âWhy the hell would they do that?ââWeâre the last ones leaving,â Dorothy said. âSo it makes sense that they chose to only attack us. But why would they do that?ââMaybe t
Shawn couldnât pull Benjaminâs hand on the first attempt. He pulled again with greater strength now, and Benjamin let him win.âBrother Shawn, let me open the door and go out,â Benjamin tried to reason with him. âYou can shut the door immediately if you want.âShawn frowned. âDo you have a death wish or what?ââIâm not going out to die. I will tame them,â Benjamin replied calmly.âDonât listen to him,â Rebecca quickly said. âMaybe he drank too much.â She had to say that even though she knew that he didnât drink during the party. âThe animals outside are not rabbits. They are wolves. Just one will be enough to kill you. There are dozens of them outside. So, shut up and sit here. Letâs wait until help arrives.âBenjamin took a deep breath and sat down.Shawn brought a chair to the door and sat by the door so that nobody would be able to open the door without his permission.A few minutes passed.âLook at that wolf, Lisa,â Roshan showed her a particular wolf. âItâs spinning in circles⊠n
On their return journey from the castle to the private jet, the Sterling family did not get to see the wolves again, but they were able to see other beautiful animals.Veronica and everyone took their time to capture some of the animals. Some deer were very big and were even taller than the cars, so they couldnât help but be left in wonder.âAre you not going to take any pictures?â Benjamin asked Rebecca.âWhat would I do with the animal pictures?ââThey can be used for inspiration for your designs later on,â he said.âI can just look for them online whenever I want,â she replied. The Hellmann family on the other hand realized what had happened to Arthur, but they didnât immediately know who did this to him as Arthur was still paralyzed to the point he couldnât even speak. They checked the cameras and understood that it was Veronica Sterling and their bodyguard.âHow did they manage to put my brother in such a sorry state?â the bride wondered in rage. âI canât let them get away like t
By the time the wedding finished, a lot of people gave gifts to Selena, and she happily accepted them. Even the Hellmann family gave her gifts. Some people also tried to offer gifts to Rebecca, but she rejected them without any hesitation. There were some men who really persuaded her, but she was not at all shy when it came to breaking their newfound hopes of dating her or making her their own.âAs expected of Selenaâs daughterâŠâ they said. âSheâs entitled for this much arrogance!âSome loved her attitude and thought of it as cool, whereas some looked at it as if she needed some work on her ego.The only thing that bothered Rebecca was that Benjamin was really acting like a bodyguard and did not let anyone get closer to her without her permission. If he was doing it normally, it would have been fine, but he was exaggerating everything and was treating her like sheâs some princess. And this embarrassed her a little.Once the party finished, and people began to leave, Selena came over t
Benjaminâs impression of Veronica changed after she spoke highly about her elder sister not long after she got slapped by Rebecca.Veronica definitely earned some respect from Benjamin.âAnd, itâs my personal advice, but you shouldnât chase after her too much,â Veronica told him. âWhen you seek after someone, it tends to make them proud. Everyone in our house tries to talk to Rebecca and please her because she doesnât talk and mingle with others that much. But maybe, thatâs why, sheâs become a bit prideful. Even now, she doesnât mingle with other family members. She spends time with herself most of the time. I can understand if she reads books like my mom, but she doesnât do that, either. So, I donât know what she even thinks about. She never lets out her secrets. Maybe, sheâll tell you if you ask her, but take it slow. Thatâs all the advice I can give.ââThanks for your tips,â Benjamin said. âIâll definitely bring you free pizza when I get back to work.âVeronica somewhat smiled. âDo
âYouâre my wife, Rebecca,â Benjamin followed her and kept her voice low. âHow can I stab you in the back?ââGo and tell those words to the millions of wives who get betrayed by their husbands,â Rebecca snorted.âI donât know about others, but I would never stab you or anyone in the back,â Benjamin said. âWe still donât know much about each other, so itâs fine if we misunderstand each other, but⊠I think your sister is probably more hurt by what you said. I think you should-ââDonât tell me about my own sister who I have known for quarter a decade,â Rebecca blurted.Benjamin went silent.âI still canât believe that I married someone whom I know nothing about,â Rebecca muttered under her breath. âI was sure that I wasnât making an emotional decision, but now, I wish I never married you. Maybe, I should have just told my family what happened, and they would have beaten you black and blue, and thrown you in jail. You would have spent a decade or two there.âBenjamin patiently listened to
âI was doubtful so far, but now that I've seen women flocking to him, Iâm sure of it,â Dorothy was talking to her husband, Nolan. âShe married him for his looks. And look what heâs doing, chatting with them nonstop. The dogs in our house are better than him. They wouldnât talk with strangers. Instead, they shout at them and protect us from harm. But whatâs this guy doing? It looks like he canât wait to get all their numbers! Why arenât you saying anything?âNolan was slowly drinking wine. âAh, yeah, youâre right.â Right now, he couldnât care less if Rebecca married a millionaire or a mutton-chopping man because the wine was really delicious, and so he was drowning himself in it.After seeing that Nolan was busy drinking, Dorothy went to her daughter who was standing not far from where Benjamin was talking with the ladies. âWhat are they laughing so much for?ââHeâs probably cracking some stupid double-meaning jokes,â Elizabeth said and then realized who she was talking to. âM-Mom?!ââ

This is a very good book. The updates are not consistent. Maybe the author should concentrate on one or two stories at a time instead of updating the six unfinished books. As an active reader, this is frustrating, and it almost makes you want to stop reading.
