A brat like you?

Richard stood in front of the tall mirror before him as he stared at his reflection. Some days ago, he did same to go to the party in Danica's mansion. He was satisfied with his simple look and had being so proud that he would make his girlfriend happy. At the end, he got disappointed.

Now, the person in the mirror was different from the person he knew he was. Just a little glow up and he became a different person entirely.

His black suit gave a lot of his new status, fitting perfectly to his body and his hair was all styled back bringing out the color of his eyes. His father or mother, he had no idea who he looked like but he was sure his parent were good looking and had blessed him with their looks.

"Today is your coronation day. You must be so happy. Wealth would finally be yours." Rina said out, walking into the room with her heels making clicking sounds at each step she took. She looked at his reflection and smiled in satisfaction. "Perfect. The perfect lord of the abyss look." She complimented.

"Is everyone ready to leave?"

She nodded. "We are all waiting for you."

Richard felt a skip in his heart beat but tried to maintain his stance. He was finally going to meet the big guys. For the past days he had stayed with the Deltas, they had taught him a lot but he wasn't sure it would be enough to meet the lords yet.

"Be fearless. Be bold. Do not let them see your weakness or they use it against you. Remember, you are their lord and you should behave like one and not like a puppet." She encouraged him and patted his shoulder.

Richard let out a deep breath before he curled up the corners of his lips. "Of course, I won't disappoint this clan."

She nodded and walked out of the room. Walking down the hall and heading outside the house, a member of the clan, Matilda, joined her.

"After the coronation, the leadership would come to this house. Nice plan you've got Rina." She said in a whisper but clear and loud enough for Rina to hear.

"We just have to keep going on with the plan and he wouldn't find out about this. We just have to make this coronation a success." She halted and faced Matilda. "They would try to make this coronation a failure so I hope all the guys are ready?"

She nodded. "Yes. We did as you said."

"Good," she nodded and continued. "After tonight, the king of the abyss would be our puppet and we will gain back our power through him. After everything is done, we do away with him."

They both walked out, leaving Richard who had overheard them in complete shock. He couldn't move and was stuck to where he stood.

Use him as a puppet and dumb him when they have gotten what they wanted? Not what he was expecting but he did had a bad feeling about it all.

He rushed back into his room and locked the door behind him. They did gave him an option to either join them or to die.

He rubbed the back of his neck and sighed deeply. This is going to be his new life.

Taking in deep breaths to calm himself, he left the room and went to join his clan members. He sat in the same car with Rina.

All through the car ride was filled with silence as no one said anything to anyone. Richard had his mind fixed on what he heard.

He just had to pretend he never heard them.

They took a lonely road and the car drove through the dark with no other car passing by. He got to a gate and it was opened for them by the officers.

Richard thought the journey would end there and wondered why they were going through a long quiet road, but the car drove down the road and went beneath a bridge.

He got an eerie feeling and the hairs on his skin rose as he put his attention on the road they were going through. It was like, a road to hell. A road to a slaughter house that was hidden far away from the city.

"How far are we gone?" He questioned Rina whose head was rested on the headrest and her eyes were shut.

She sighed deeply before she replied, "The drive from the city to this dark-hill is an hour."

An hour? They travelled for an hour without him noticing?

He looked out again and swallowed deeply. What exactly has he put himself into?

The driver finally pulled over immediately they drove out of the bridge. "Where is this place?" he questioned in curiosity and looked around for the sign of a house or anything, but there was nothing.

He expected to see a very big mansion with guards all over, but they were in an abandoned area with no life or house around.

"We are at the abyss," she answered and came out of the car.

Abyss? Where exactly was it? He wondered and came out of the car, still looking around.

Rina walked to the side wall and placed her palm on it. A blue light glowed on the wall and her hand was scanned.

He was dumbstruck seeing it. There was something behind the wall. The wall divided into two, revealing a dark opening.

"Let's go in." She said to him and walked into the dark space. Richard hesitantly went after her. "We are going down first." The wall closed up, immediately turning the lights on.

Richard gasped as he realized where they were. An elevator. She pressed a green button and they went down. It only stopped when the red lights came on and the elevator opened.

A large space painted in white. There were paintings on the wall. Paintings that tells a story but he couldn't figure out what it was.

A young woman walked to them with her head bowed. "The lords are waiting. This way please." She said and led them to a room. She opened the door and moved away.

Richard stepped in and his heart dropped for a minute. He was standing before the lords of the game?

"So you are the new king? A brat like you?" One of the lords asked.
