Chapter 5

Roland walked to where master Wilson sat and said “grandfather, I'm so sorry. I didn't know anything about this. My jeweler is responsible for this and as soon as I get home, I'm going to sack him. I promise to even bring a more expensive gift for you. I'm so sorry grandfather “ he then bowed his head waiting for grandfather's response.

“There's no need anymore. The celebration is almost over. And I don't have two birthdays in a year” 

“But, I still—” Roland insisted but he was cut short.

“I have other critical things to discuss today, like I've said don't bother about this anymore!” 

Roland walked shamefully to where Miranda stood.

Master Wilson clapped his hand twice, signaling that the attention of the crowd, made up of his family members, was needed.

“So, I have called everyone together. Not just for this birthday ceremony but also for the announcement of my next heir”

This piqued the interest of the family members

“My son will be most suitable, after all he is the first grandchild of the Wilson's family”

“No, my daughter is most suitable. She started up her own business at age 17. That is a responsible child!”

“No, my son graduated with a first class….” 

The arguments went on and on until Master Wilson silenced them. “Enough!” 

Then he continued, “The next heir for my company will be chosen by myself and the heir will be the one who is able to get a deal with Chesterfield investment company” 

Everyone murmured amongst themselves. They all knew it wasn't easy to secure a deal with Chesterfield investment company as there are always lots of other companies requesting for the same deal.

“My wife will get the deal,” Sebastien said.

“What did you say?” Master Wilson asked again to be sure he was hearing correctly. 

“Isabelle, my wife, will get the deal” Sebastien repeated, this time louder. Everyone was shocked as they heard this, even Isabelle couldn't believe her ears, she wondered what he had up his sleeves.

“Will she be considered as an heir if she is able to secure the deal?” Sebastien asks just to be sure.

“We haven't cleared the debts of the company yet and Isabelle is in no position to be heir. Not after all her disgraceful acts in the past two years” Tony, Isabelle's cousin said. Isabelle was heading the finance department of the company when they fell into a huge debt. 

“That wasn't my fault. The gangster who refused to pay is clearly at fault” Isabelle tried to defend herself. 

“Nonsense, it's because you were too lenient with him. I'm sure if someone else was in charge of the finance department he wouldn't have gotten away with that. This is just a clear sign of how you'll lead the company if you were made the heir.” Tony attacked her.

Master Wilson cleared his throat, signaling that their attention is still needed, he then turned to sebastien, “Yes, Isabelle will be considered the next heir if and only if she gets the deal with Chesterfield investment company and not only that but she must clear the debts from the underworld gangster, Romero Pierson, in the time frame of three days”

Isabelle gasped, horror evident in her eyes. Master Wilson's request obviously kept Isabelle in a difficult situation. 

Romero pierson isn't an easy person to deal with. He kills people for fun! Yes, that's how dangerous he is and grandfather is saying she has to collect the debts from him to be able to be the next heir. 

Romero Pierson goes about owing companies and whenever they try to request for their money he ends up threatening them and if they insist they end up losing one or more body parts. Yes, that's how violent and heartless he is. 

Even other big companies end up forfeiting their money once romero pierson is involved. People started avoiding him because they didn't want problems for themselves. 

Isabelle's parents shivered in fear, there's no way they would allow their daughter to be exposed to such harm. If that is a criteria then she may as well forget the position of being the next heir. 

“Hahaha. Even the warriors in this town couldn't face Romero pierson. Is it now this weakling and her retard husband that'll be able to face him” Tony, Isabelle's cousin, said.

Normally, Miranda will be the one to start the mockery but she had her face still lowered in shame from the previous events.

“If Romero could single handedly kill five warriors. What gives you the confidence that you'll be able to escape from his wrath? Better give up on your pursuit of being next heir and focus on your husband and your sad life” 

In a panic, Adeline exclaimed “No father! it's too risky, what if something happens to Isabelle! What will we do”

Tony snickered, “Aunt Adeline, it's okay if you don't want Isabelle to go, but then you and your family will forever be in poverty and debt. It's not as if she'll even succeed if she goes but at least she might have a tiny chance of succeeding, but she'll be covered in bruises” Toney burst into laughter, mocking them openly. 

“She won't go and that is final!” Adeline said with a tone of finality and her husband, Harry, agreed with her.
