CHAPTER THIRTY-NINE

He stood in the witness box as the man walked forward and presented a Bible to him. Then he asked him if he was willing to tell the truth and nothing but the truth.

Knowing everything he was going to say would be true, he just agreed to what the man said to him. He looked to his left and there sat the anxious Eliza. Looking at him with a forced smile. Even after he kept telling her everything was going to be okay, she still insisted that things did not look okay to her.

She was scared because Jackson and his father hired the best lawyer in the whole city and so far he has been doing a good job. And she only had Micheal and her husband’s words.

But she seemed to have been underrating the man a bit. Because he had something kept for Jackson and his father.

“So, Mr. Mwansa, I believe you took Eliza from my client, right?” A chubby dark skinned man asked as he walked about the place.
