CHAPTER THIRTY-SEVEN

He sat across from Eliza in his office as he tried to explain to her what he made of everything. He knew she might not be able to help him with her brother. He knew maybe she might side with her brother even this time, as she always has been. But to him, there was no better way for him to see if this time she was going to be on his side or not.

“Trevor, that makes no sense, my brother would never do that to anyone. How do you even suggest such a thing to me? I know my family can be a little too much. But putting drugs in your wine? I don’t think so. And you just told me that Mateo and you are now friends. What happened to that?” She asked, sipping on the wine. “This is some pretty wine. I’m sure it will sell out in a few,” she smiles at him.

He just smiled back at her and took a few shares of the wine himself, “I thought about what I just told you like for hours, Eliza. I didn’t want to talk about it this morning when I got back, you know from…” he just gestured, failing to formulate
