Chapter 08 Rewards.

The comfortable darkness that engulfed his mind began to fade. In his hazy consciousness, a melodious voice entered his ear giving solace to his entire being, slowly but surely Ren opened his eyes as the humming voice that entered his ear began to fade out and the first thing he saw upon awakening was.

“Where is this?”.

The unfamiliar high ceiling, a soft and comfortable bed embracing him. The warmth of sunlight light that passed through the opened window beside him roused his body up, as he heard a stunned voice beside him.

“..You awake?”.

Ren turned his attention and saw the little girl he knew open her eyes and lowered jaw. Then she snapped back and dashed away leaving him behind.

“She was?”.

He remembered that girl. She was the girl who got kidnapped by Jiha at that time. He is wondering where the hell this place is.

The room feels a bit wide for a single person. The interior of the room was filled with a luxury item, the comfortable bed with a pure sheet. A four one-seater sofa surrounded a round small table in the middle of the room. There is a single door in the corner of the room and a twin door that still hung open after the girl rushed outside, shocked to see his state.

Ren tried to slip away from the white sheet that covered him and found that he was properly dressed in comfortable white clothes that felt so comfortable, that his left arm was bandaged. Then a flash of memories filled his mind.

The fight with Jiha and the completed quest. So this was the place that girl lived in, seeing the luxury that the room offered to just a single commoner like him. He also remembers Jiha mentioned a princess back then.

Clenching his left hand and found nothing abnormal he removed the sheet from his body. Then he put his feet down from the soft bed standing up, trying to ascertain his surroundings more.

On the right side of his bed there is a single small wooden drawer with a peeled fruit like an apple but already lost its color, probably it had been left for a night, but there is a cup that was filled with water. He reached the water before gulping it down in one breath.

Satisfied with his drink, Ren approached the opened window, and the pleasant warm and the cool breeze tickled his body as he took a deep breath to savor the air.

“..Beautiful”.

In front of him stretches far away as his sight could see a lush of trimmed grass, a tree, and a garden of flowers that looks beautiful catches his eyes. He is sure after witnessing the garden before him that the place he currently lives in was a place for the high-class people.

Bang, the door was slammed and Ren's body jolted then turned his back around and saw the commotion.

“You awake”.

He saw the silver-haired woman with casually drenched clothes that were easy to move and began to stomp the floor as she approached his side.

Ren feels the tension in the room as the woman keeps walking toward him until she stops inches away from him.

At that moment, the floral scent entered his nostrils. It numbed his mind. The pair of sharp eyes showed her strong will and those ruby pupils keep staring at him like it was sucking him into its abyss.

The woman hesitated at first before extending her hands and grasping Ren's left hand, tried to inspect his expression in case the injury in his hand was still not healed.

“..How was your condition?”.

“Um, I am fine”.

“Mm, I am really glad to hear that”.

“Um, Thank you”.

“For what?”

“Well..”.

Ren wants to express his gratitude for willing him to stay at her place and get cured of his injury when the third party begins to interrupt.

“Big sis you can’t just drop your weapon like that to me, It was a bit hassle you know bringing it while chasing after your figure. Oh..”

The girl who interrupted Ren's words opened her mouth with knitted brows on her cute face. She began to huff her chest in protest to her unreasonable sister. But stopped in her talk as she lifted the corner of her lips, looking at her sister who was in a close distance with a man while holding his hand.

“Liv, what is wrong?”

The girl in question covered her mouth and began to giggle to herself and opened her mouth with a teasing demeanor.

“Ehehe, I didn’t know that big sis could get close to a man like that”.

“What!?”.

The woman's body jerked as she realized the situation she was in. In a closed distance with the opposite sex while holding the hand of the person. She turned her gaze down and realized something more haggard than that. She saw drenched clothes that made her body curve look more visible.

Blood rushed to her face at once as she began to retreat from Ren's space and flapping her hands sideways.

“Um, this was. Um, I was just recently training So..”.

“..I see, you are so diligent”.

“..Well thank you, So, I was..”.

The woman turned her gaze toward her sister who stood near the twin door holding a wooden sword in her hands began to cuckled and opened her mouth.

“Big sis, you better freshen up first before talking to him”.

“You are right. Then, please excuse me”.

The woman with her flushed face dashed away and took away the wooden sword from her sister's hand. Leaving the dumbfounded Ren alone.

The girl after having enough teasing her big sister began to approach Ren and once she was near enough, she began to pinch her dress and bow her body a little showing her graceful figure to him.

“I apologize for what transpired earlier. My name Is Liv Sera Silvers the second daughter of Duke Silvers. Pleased to make your acquaintance".

Ren opened his eyes wide, he didn't expect the girl was have that much prestige in her hands, and that was a Duke of all other peers. Ren took a deep breath first to calm his nerves and he put his right hand on his left chest before bending his body forward and introducing himself.

“Pleased to meet you, too. My name is Ren, a commoner”.

He wondered if this was enough for the introduction, but hearing no word from Liv did indeed put pressure on his mind. He pulled his head upward and found her with a gaping mouth.

“Hee, Big Brother sure was polite for a commoner”.

After hearing Liv's words Ren straightened his posture and began to entertain the small princess before him.

“..So, big brother was living in that place”

“Yeah, I was”.

Sitting on the soft sofa that tried to devour his butt, Liv began to start the conversation while trying to deepen their friendship.

“Big brother, are you living with your family then?”.

“No, They have already passed away and only I remain”.

Ren lied, the truth is he still holds a huge grudge against the person who did that to her mother, and every time he recalled those memories his hatred became more violent.

Liv lifts her head and Saw Ren gives her a light smile to try to ease her burdened heart. She clenched her fist to try to renew her spirit and try to change the subject.

“Big brother..”.

“Excuse me”.

The door creaked as the big sister began to show her appearance wearing a red dress that looked stunning to Ren's eyes. Ren gets drawn toward her beauty. That red dress emphasized her beauty as if she was a flower that bloomed at the peak never in reach of a man's hands.

Then behind her, there is one male attendant. He is a middle-aged man with neat gray hair that is swept back and wears a tuxedo with a straight spine following the woman inside.

“Aah, Big sis ruined my time with Big brother”.

“Liv watch your behavior!”.

“Boo”.

The woman then approached one of the sofas before she sat on the opposite side of Ren. As for the butler he is standing behind the woman, showing his smile at him when their eyes meet.

“Then, This time properly, let me say thank you for rescuing us from those kidnappers the other days, thank you”.

“Thank you, Big brother”.

The two young ladies bowed their heads to Ren and that made him tense his body, he shook his hand to the side.

“Ah, No. My pleasure. Please, you don't have to do that. It's already in the past after all”.

“Fufu, I understood then, I apologize for my late introduction. My name is Lyn Sera Silvers. First daughter of Duke Silvers, pleased to make your acquaintance”.

“My name is Ren, I am happy as well. I apologize if my speech is rough”.

“Ufuufu, I don't mind at all. Then, Hazel bring that”.

“Yes, My Lady”.

The butler behind the name Hazel. Respond to a call from his master then take something from his back and put it on the round table with a clicking sound.

Ren opened his eyes wide as he realized that the sack may contain some coin. But he just needs to make sure about it.

“..What is that?”.
