Chapter 7

That morning, Jason began to get ready to attend classes at his campus. For the past few days, Jason had been skipping classes, avoiding meeting Lydia, so he preferred to delve deeper into understanding how the system worked rather than attending lectures.

After several days of skipping, initially, Jason thought there wouldn't be much change in his college life. Until Jason realized there was a beautiful girl waiting for him, only then did he realize that his campus life might change.

Brena was standing in front of the campus gate with sharp eyes scanning the surroundings. Her face suddenly lit up when she saw the man she had been looking for finally arrived.

"Hey, where have you been for the past few days?" Brena asked, approaching Jason with a sweet smile on her face.

Jason just glanced at Brena briefly before turning away and continuing his steps.

Brena clicked her tongue in annoyance at Jason's disregard. However, she didn't give up because Jason was a kind-hearted person in her eyes.

After receiving financial assistance from Jason a few days ago, Brena managed to pay for her mother's surgery on time. Her mother was saved, and Jason was the real savior for Brena. Brena felt indebted to Jason. That's why she was willing to wait for Jason in front of the gate from that moment on.

"Hey, I've been waiting for you every morning for the past few days. How could you just ignore me when we finally meet?" Brena followed Jason, expressing her dissatisfaction, her behavior truly resembling that of two people who were previously close.

Jason sighed deeply at Brena's behavior. He felt uncomfortable because what Brena was doing was really drawing attention.

Jason realized that there were now many unhappy glances directed at him, which was normal because Brena was a popular girl on campus.

Jason realized that this could potentially turn out bad for him, so he began to think of ways to make Brena stop following him and stop talking to him.

"I know you're only doing this because you feel indebted to me," Jason said without expression, trying to signal to Brena that her change in attitude was not needed. "The help I gave you before was purely out of my own willingness. So there's no need to feel indebted, and let's just act as usual from now on."

"What?" Brena raised her eyebrows. She was surprised to receive a cold response from Jason, something she had never expected before.

Jason just shook his head slightly as he walked away, leaving Brena still in shock.

[Ding!]

[Is the Host really going to leave her like that? She's beautiful, how could the Host not be interested?]

Jason read the system message with a bitter smile. It was true that Brena was very beautiful. However, taking advantage of Brena just because he had helped her wasn't right in Jason's eyes.

Jason even remembered vividly that his relationship with Brena before was really like strangers. They rarely even greeted each other when they passed by. Now, after Jason had helped her, Brena's attitude suddenly changed, even resembling that of a girl in love. Jason realized that this wasn't genuine closeness but merely based on a sense of obligation.

"How can I take advantage of her when my intention was only to help her? Isn't that cruel?" Jason pondered, hoping the system would hear him.

[Ding!]

[The Super Rich system admires the Host's kindness, 100 Points are sent as proof of admiration!]

Jason raised his eyebrows. He didn't know that system points could be obtained in such a way other than helping people.

"I accept your 100 points. Although the real reason I chose to distance myself from Brena is that I didn't want to be bothered by her fans." Jason said with a faint smile on his face.

[Ding!]

[The System condemns the Host's actions, the Host should have stated from the beginning so the system wouldn't arbitrarily give points!]

Jason chuckled softly, finding the system quite amusing because it was so easily convinced. "Everything I said earlier was true, so your point reward was appropriate."

[Ding!]

[The System withdraws its condemnation, what the Host said has some truth to it.]

Jason tried to contain his laughter so as not to appear crazy for talking and laughing to himself. It was risky to talk to the system, yet comforting at the same time.

"Oh, what is this? Our campus loser finally shows up?" Jason raised his eyebrows. The familiar voice really annoyed him. Sure enough, Jason immediately saw Kevin with some other classmates walking towards him.

Jason observed them for a moment. Fortunately, Lydia wasn't among them, so Jason didn't have to feel hurt seeing Kevin's affection with Lydia.

"Take care of yourselves and stop bothering me." Jason said as he continued walking. He didn't want to get involved with them.

Seeing Jason wanting to leave just like that, Kevin immediately ran up before grabbing Jason's collar and throwing him to the ground.

"What the hell ..."

Jason immediately got up from the fall. He was angry and almost hit Kevin right there. Fortunately, Jason managed to stop his punch, because if not, he would be the one hit back by Kevin and his friends.

"What is this? Are you trying to hit me? Loser, is your brain not working just because I took Lydia away?" Kevin pushed Jason forcefully as he said all that.

Kevin clenched his fist tightly. Kevin's provocation was really excessive, as if he deliberately wanted to provoke Jason's emotions.

"What do you want with your fist, Loser? Do you really want to hit me now? Go ahead and do it." Kevin brought his face closer to Jason's, inviting Jason to hit him.

Jason, who knew it was just bait, chose to be patient. He understood well that Kevin was trying to create an excuse to hit him without receiving punishment from the campus.

"Stop doing this. Isn't taking Lydia away from me enough for you? Why do you keep trying to provoke me?" Jason felt disgusted with Kevin's behavior.

Kevin immediately laughed after Jason mentioned Lydia's name. "Oh, so it's true that you suddenly became annoying like this because of Lydia."

Jason stared at Kevin sharply without expression. He was sure that not only he, but every man in the world would react the same way to someone who made their girlfriend betray them.

Kevin laughed as if Jason's anger was just a joke to him. "Relax, I can get Lydia back for you as long as you help me."

Jason raised his eyebrows, wanting to know what help Kevin wanted that would make Lydia an equivalent bargaining tool.

"You know, I saw you walking with Brena earlier ..." Kevin said with a meaningful smile on his face. "What if you help me get close to Brena? I see you know her well enough, so it shouldn't be impossible for you to do that, right?"

Jason gritted his teeth. He didn't expect Kevin to target Brena too. Jason, who knew that behind Brena's popularity was just a miserable girl who loved her mother so much, certainly couldn't just let Kevin play with Brena's feelings.

"I don't want to get back together with Lydia. So forget about helping you get close to Brena."
