Chapter 7 - Self Escape (Part.2)

Maybe now Richard managed to escape from the thugs who were after his life. After successfully boarding Mr. Hudson's ship. Here's what he needs to do to figure out how to use a god's coin to change his life.

His body was too exhausted after running so far on an empty stomach. A very exhausting pursuit his whole life.

Suddenly from behind someone gave him a burger pack. Suddenly Richard was surprised—he lowered his head.

"How many days have you eaten? Why is your face so pale? Don't die on my ship, eat quickly!" said Mr. Hudson, sitting next to still silent Richard staring at a burger that was even still warm.

It's sad to see young people who look hopeless. As a person who has lived much longer lives, the experience of life he has experienced for 50 years, is difficult, happy and hopeless that he has been through many times.

After getting to know a grandfather who gave him a bowl of free ramen, his life changed to become more meaningful. He has a debt of gratitude that will never be forgotten at any time.

"I know you're not Mr. Nakamura's son, are you?" asked Mr. Hudson.

Suddenly Richard was silent because his lies had become known. He didn't mean to lie, he just followed what the Grandfather said to the ramen shop owner.

"I'm sorry, I just said what Mr. Nakamura said. Even I just found out his name when I wanted to run away. And now that I'm thinking about his fate, I feel so bad for him." said Richard, who couldn't eat a burger out of guilt.

He who can still enjoy a slice of burger without knowing the fate of the Grandfather, who may be in danger.

"You don't have to worry about him. He's not a human being, I'm sure he is." said Mr. Hudson looking confidently at the figure of Mr. Nakamura who once saved his life from death.

"What do you mean?" asked Richard—looking confused.

Mr. Hudson was still silent as if he felt it was hard to tell his past story with the mysterious Grandfather. He was 30 years old and the Grandfather was probably 80.

30 years ago he was almost killed by someone who believed he was a murderer. Even the court has ruled that she is innocent of the death of a woman in her 40s. He was made a scapegoat by someone with power. Until the husband of the victim did not accept his innocence, the man tried to commit an attempted murder on him.

If he hadn't been hiding in Mr. Nakamura's ramen shop that night, he would have been killed in the hands of the victim's husband from a legal misunderstanding. He fled through an underground tunnel and went to Malaysia to start a new life.

Hudson returned to Los Angeles after 30 years. He became a fisherman with such a simple life with his small family. However, when he returns to the ramen shop to see Mr. Nakamura, Hudson is surprised that Grandpa has not changed. It's still the same as it was 30 years ago when they first met.

Mr. Nakamura doesn't seem to age at all, just being an 80-year-old grandfather. Looks healthy and sells ramen. When Hudson realized that Mr. Nakamura was no ordinary human being, it made Hudson more respectful of the Grandfather's existence.

Richard was silent—thrilling after listening to Mr. Hudson's past stories, which left him speechless. Richard is confused about whether he wants to believe or not believe the story of Mr. Nakamura.

"Maybe my story sounds absurd. I don't care either if you want to believe it or not." said Mr. Hudson as he walked out of his place and again asked, "So where are we going, young man?"

"Spanish." Richard said with a firm and confident look.

Mr. Hudson smiled at the look on Richard's face that reminded him of his youth.

"Okay. Finish your meal quickly, you can't die of hunger okay, bro?" said Mr. Hudson.

"Yeah. Thank you."

Standing from a distance saw Mr. Hudson walking his back. The man with the muscular body at first looked just like the thugs who were chasing him. But during the journey that took two days, Richard could feel the kindness of Mr. Hudson.

Mr. Hudson again waved at him with a smiling face—getting into the car which then drove away. It's weird to meet a stranger who's been nice to her. Because he's only been meeting bad people all along. It seems that Mr. Hudson helped himself get to this place because he felt sorry for himself. The appearance is so weak that whoever sees it there are only two possibilities, namely to feel sorry for him or treat him like trash.

Walking through the side of the highway in two directions that seemed quite lonely for the driver. Along the way Richard could still see a coastline that looked so beautiful. A pretty strong gust of wind called for a cloud overcast sky. He had to speed up his steps to find a hiding place.

"Damn, stomach …," muttered Richard for getting a signal from his hungry stomach.

The raindrops had begun to fall, Richard had to hurry to find a temporary shelter and find food. Walking nearly four miles [4 km], eventually across the highway Richard saw a deserted food restaurant. Richard was tired of walking on an empty stomach, if not resting soon, maybe he would faint and end up being caught by thugs.

Richard made sure it was safe for him to cross over. But suddenly a car came at a high speed and immediately hit his body, which was thrown almost 5 meters away. Immediately lying on black asphalt wet with rainwater. Richard is still conscious even though his body is hard to move. It feels like all the bones are crushed. It looks like blood is starting to flow from Richard's forehead, which melts as the rain pours down his body.

"Why is it so hard to drive, Aw, this is so painful," complained Richard while trying to get up.

The lights were so blinding in his eyes, that Richard had difficulty finding out who had hit him. Only a black shadow was walking up to him.

"Finally met this fucking rat,"

Immediately Richard's eyes opened when he saw Bryant standing before him. His breathing became heavy because he had no chance to escape. Richard was surrounded by thugs who ended up hitting him in the spot without mercy.

"Stop!!"

Bryant shouted so that the thugs could so brutally hit and kick Richard to a quick stop. They all gave way to Bryant in unison. A battered, helpless Richard can only surrender to death.

Sitting in front of Richard's bloodstained body, Bryant grinned with satisfaction at the suffering that his God's Coin thief was experiencing.

"How, has this made you so miserable?" Bryant asked.
