That night in Ethan’s residence

The day was unnecessarily stressful. So everyone settled in to sleep as soon as they had dinner.

Chloe was going through a novel while Ethan was making his bed to sleep on the couch when they suddenly heard Matilda screaming in the corridor.

Chloe dropped the novel and tried to get off the bed when Ethan said he’d check what was going on, so she climbed up again and waited.

Ethan walked outside to see Matilda pacing to and fro in the corridor and asked calmly, “Is anything the matter, mother-in-law? I just put Honey to sleep an hour ago, I’m afraid you’d wake her if you keep raising your voice.”

Matilda walked back to him and screamed angrily, “Everything’s the matter! Why should Scott William get a master bedroom while I get an ordinary room?”
