123 The Cavalry
All it took was a split second. Nobody saw it coming. One moment, Tyler’s fate appeared to be sealed. The next moment, the baton-wielding guards found themselves on the floor, writhing in pain. They had swollen and bloody faces and broken and bruised limbs, and their weapons lay abandoned and shattered.

What the hell happened?

Tyler stood in place, not even having broken sweat. He smiled ever so slightly as if he knew the consequences already.

“Do you guys want more?” he asked the guards coldly. “Or have you given up?”

Tyler had chosen not to kill anybody in the presence of innocents. The battered men wailed out in misery.

“No, please! Mercy!”

“It hurts!”

“We made a mistake!”

They crawled out on all fours or staggered out on twos from the hall. They were burly, intimidating men just a moment back. Now, they had been reduced to worms and mice.
