Chapter 17. Company Inspection

The distance between KG Aviation and KG Entertainment was quite long, especially since Ethan was leaving with Hannah from a restaurant near the beach. That man would take over the checks at KG Entertainment right after Astrid and Finnley failed to do so.

"Are you sure you'll show up as their CEO this time?" asked Hannah.

"Didn't you keep forcing me to reveal myself quickly? Why also now you look quite hesitant?" asked Ethan.

Hannah bowed her head. Her pure heart kept thinking of the bad impact Ethan would get from his current decision. She didn't want this crucial moment to disturb Ethan's mind.

The CEO position is indeed quite prestigious; many people want it. However, the higher and more respectable a person's position in the company, then there is tremendous pressure on the CEO about his ability to run the company.

"I'm just confirming your seriousness, nothing more," Hannah said.

"Haha, I've already made up my mind, which means I'm ready for the consequences," Ethan retorted.

"Alright. I believe you," Hannah replied.

Ethan smiled, his right hand holding the car's steering wheel, while the left hand seemed to hold the car's gear. Ethan drove on the city highway so the trip from the restaurant near the beach to KG Entertainment could take a short time.

Throughout the trip, Hannah kept her eyes on her cell phone. She seemed busy replying to one message after another on her phone while Ethan was still focused on the road ahead.

"There's KG Entertainment," Ethan said.

Hannah's eyes drifted from her phone to the road ahead, to a third-floor building on the right side of the road. There were luxury SUV-type cars parked in the parking lot in front of the office, the cars belonging to the company's directors.

Ethan saw that there were no parking spaces left in front of the office, so he decided to go to the parking lot downstairs. The security guard guiding Ethan's car was stunned to see the same man who had arrived yesterday with Hannah, Kingsley's daughter.

The conditions in the lower parking lot looked so different compared to the parking lot in front of the company; only a few cars were parked, and they were less luxurious than the director's car.

"Do you know what they do in this place?" Ethan asked.

"They're recruiting people who are good at dancing and singing to be idols, and they're also planning to form an esports team, which is becoming popular," Hannah replied.

"I think they've done well in their respective fields. However, I don't know the reason for the financial deficit," Hannah added.

Ethan got out of the car, noticing the entrance that seemed to be guarded by two security guards, "The only way to find out is to ask the directors."

The man stepped closer to Hannah, going toward the entrance, which was immediately opened by the two security guards. They still remembered Ethan's appearance yesterday. Surely his arrival with Hannah could surprise many people.

One of the office receptionists approached Hannah, greeting her gently as she asked why she was there. Hannah glanced softly at Ethan; Ethan nodded for Hannah to lead him.

"I'm here to see Claire and the finance director," Hannah said.

"Miss Astrid and Mr. Finnley also met with Manager Claire. However, she is currently in an important meeting with the board of directors," the woman replied, occasionally glancing at Ethan, who was standing beside Hannah.

"Oh, I see, huh?"

"Take us to the finance director's office. We'll be waiting there," Ethan said.

The receptionist lady could do nothing but follow Ethan's orders. They obeyed him because he arrived with Hannah, meaning he had an important position no one knew about.

The three stepped closer to the elevator, the reception lady pressed button three, immediately lifting them to the third floor.

"Excuse me, Miss Hannah. If I may know, who is he?" asked the receptionist lady, wanting to know Ethan's true identity.

"Ah, I'm sorry. I haven't had a chance to introduce myself to you yet, have I?" asked Ethan, smiling kindly as he extended his right hand.

"I'm Ethan Kingsley. The first son of the Kingsley family and the heir of Kingsley," Ethan replied.

The woman's hand that shook Ethan's seemed to tremble. Her face paled with eyes widened in shock. In a soft voice, she introduced herself as Sisca.

"Sisca, huh? Thank you for taking me," Ethan replied. Suddenly the elevator doors opened and revealed a fairly large room with small rooms where the director worked.

Sisca led Ethan and Hannah to the finance director's room in the third room from the end. Ethan nodded, telling Sisca to go back downstairs to work.

The woman left quickly, leaving Ethan, also the CEO of this company. Sisca's mind was in turmoil; she kept thinking that Ethan would fire her due to yesterday's incident.

"She looked scared when she met you," Hannah said.

Ethan laughed as he opened the finance director's office door, "Haha, she probably remembered yesterday."

"What happened?"

"I was kicked out of here. They said I was suspicious, so some people told me to leave before they called the police," Ethan replied.

"Oh, that must be really tough on his mind right now," Hannah said.

The door to the finance director's office opened. Hannah was invited in first, followed by Ethan, walking in last. The finance director's office looked clean and tidy, and the files were arranged in such an order that Ethan doubted anything was wrong with his work.

The news that Ethan was a Kingsley heir was widespread throughout the company's staff. Most would never have guessed the person they kicked out yesterday was the CEO of their company.

"Are we going to get fired?" asked one of the receptionists.

"I don't know. I can't imagine myself when he fires me," replied the male staff.

"But are you sure he is the Kingsley heir?" asked the security guard. Sisca nodded; she was absolutely sure that Ethan was the Kingsley heir.

Sisca, with eyes that were still surprised, began to say her opinion, "If he's not, how dare he talk like that near Miss Hannah."

"That has a point too."

The important director's meeting was over, and everyone came out of the meeting room on the second floor. Suddenly, they accidentally heard the news about the arrival of KG Entertainment's CEO.

The directors suspected it was Tobias, so they began returning to the third floor. They walked up to the CEO's office and found no one there, which of course, left the directors confused.

The finance director, a woman, walked back to her room to put down the files she had used for the meeting. The door to the room opened, and two people were waiting for her in the room.

The woman finance director was young, three years older than Ethan. Her skin and face looked well-maintained; the good news was that she was single. Hannah and Ethan's arrival startled the finance director.

"M-Miss Hannah?"

Ethan knew the finance director's name, Eve. The young man spontaneously turned his body around, staring seriously at Eve.

"The staff are talking about the CEO coming here. Is Miss Hannah the CEO of KG Entertainment?" asked Eve, curious.

Hannah stuck out her hand, pointing at Ethan, standing tall before Eve's desk, "No, but he is."

Eve averted her eyes. A figure she had never seen before was in front of her. Eve smiled as she stepped closer, extending her hand to get acquainted with Ethan.

"Let me introduce you. I'm Eve," the woman said, being friendly to Ethan.

"Enough with the chitchat, Eve. Tell me, what is the reason for KG Entertainment's financial deficit?!"
