Chapter 13: Not an Ordinary Person

Twenty minutes passed, but the person Sean had called didn't show up. Wendy began to look uncomfortable. She thought about her fate again.

"Why aren't they here yet?" Wendy ventured to ask.

"The distance from their office to here is quite far. Please be patient."

Sean tried to understand the fear that Wendy felt. He wouldn't do anything bad to her, but it was natural for Wendy to doubt that. In fact, according to Sean, it was a good thing and could be called a form of self-defense.

"Who exactly did you call?" Wendy looked at Sean intently.

"Someone from the Women and Children Protection Organization You'll be safe with them," Sean said.

Wendy's brow furrowed. She had never heard of the organization. Nor did she know if there was such an organization in Silentfort.

"It is an organization in charge of protecting women and children who are victims of violence. They will protect you. Take it easy."
