CHAPTER THIRTY-THREE

“How are you walking so perfectly just when, in a few minutes, you couldn’t walk properly? You are supposed to be badly drunk, Mateo,” he said, walking to the man.

Mateo turned as he smiled at Trevor, “well, I drum some water and some medication I got from the pharmacist to help with my beer drinking. I think it’s working.”

Trevor studied the man, and he knew he wasn’t telling him the truth. Something was off and if he was not going to do anything about it, he would be doomed for good. He needed to be careful with the people he needed to trust. It seemed like everyone was out to get him. Like the whole world was against him.

“Mateo, go home,” he said and walked to the meeting. But as he walked, a lot of questions ran through his head. There were just way too many coincidences that happened for what he was thinking to be false.
