Chapter 3

The girl named Brena turned her head when Jason said her name. She stared at Jason for a moment, before looking away to continue her argument with the receptionist.

"Uh, does she not recognize me?" Jason muttered as he scratched his non-itchy head.

"Miss, didn't I tell you that you have to pay before the surgery is performed?" The male receptionist said in a frustrated tone, Brena's stubbornness making his job harder than usual.

Brena put both hands on her waist, the umpteenth rejection did not stop her from persuading the receptionist, "Didn't I also say that I will pay when I have the money?"

The receptionist massaged his forehead, "Miss, that's not how our hospital works."

"Oh yeah? Then is your hospital going to stand by and ignore my dying mother? Do you think money is more important than someone's life? Don't joke, damn it!" Brena exclaimed in a high tone, desperation and also anger contained in her voice.

The argument grew louder, attracting the attention of people nearby. Security guards soon arrived, intent on breaking up the argument that had caused such a commotion.

"What happened?" One of the security guards asked.

The receptionist immediately pointed at Brena. He asked the security guard to get her out of there, "She's really driving me crazy, get her out."

The security guard agreed to the receptionist's request. He was sure his coworker must have a reason why he wanted Brena out.

Brena tried to rebel as the security guard tried to drag her away. She occasionally shouted cursing the security guard's actions, "Let me go, are you crazy? My mother is dying inside and you refuse to heal her, now you're even trying to throw me out, do you think my mouth will shut just because you did that?!"

The security guard tightened his grip on Brena. He continued to pull Brena out. "Shut your mouth and don't resist, Miss. You could get hurt if you insist."

"Oh, you're even threatening me?! Aren't you afraid I'll sue you?!" Brena voiced her last scream before being pulled out, leaving silence in the previously chaotic hospital lobby.

Brena's eviction was immediately welcomed by the people there. Brena may have a sad story as the reason for her actions, but many people there did not feel sorry for Brena because she was still disrupting their activities.

The line that had been jammed was now starting to move again, until Jason finally got his turn to pay his hospital fees.

"Nice to meet you, how can I help you?" The receptionist asked when Jason approached him.

Jason raised his eyebrows. The receptionist's annoyed face that suddenly turned friendly made Jason sure that the receptionist was just doing his job to the point of having to kick Brena out.

"I want to pay for my hospital fees."

The receptionist nodded, "May I know your name, sir?"

"Jason."

The receptionist looked up Jason's name from the hospital records on his computer, "Oh, your hospital bill is twelve thousand dollars, sir."

Jason's heart stopped, the amount of the bill was so huge that it had depleted all his savings. Although with a heavy heart, Jason had no choice but to make the payment as it was the only way he could leave.

"Thank you, sir. Have a nice day." The receptionist said still with the same friendly smile.

A bitter smile appeared on Jason's face. He felt stupid for thinking to help Brena when his own life needed help.

"Hufth, I should have a lot of money first if I want to help someone." Jason thought to himself. He really couldn't bear to see Brena who was frustrated because of her parents' condition. However, reality made him realize that he was the one who should be frustrated with himself.

Jason walked out of the hospital with unsteady steps and a head full of thoughts, trying to figure out what kind of life he would lead after Lydia's betrayal and the emergence of the system within him.

While Jason was deep in thought, he suddenly felt something blocking his footsteps. Jason didn't know what it was, all he knew was that he had to fall because of it.

Jason stroked the part of his body that hit the floor, at the same time Jason tried to get up, "Is this a bad day for me?"

After successfully standing up, Jason turned his head to find out what was blocking his steps. While doing so, Jason could see Brena sitting curled up with her face buried between her knees.

Brena remained silent as Jason watched her. It was obvious that Brena didn't seem to realize or perhaps deliberately didn't care that her being there had made Jason fall.

"See what? Go away." Brena said in a trembling voice. She didn't even lift her face to look at Jason when she said that.

Jason chose not to respond to Brena's words. Brena seemed to need some time to herself and Jason was willing to give it to her.

Jason finally stepped away from Brena, not because he didn't care, but because Jason understood very well that Brena would not feel better after getting comforting words without a way out.

"Who would have thought that Brena, who is loved by many men, has another side that not many people know about?" Jason muttered to himself. He occasionally shook his head slowly because it was hard to believe what he had just seen.

Jason did know Brena very well. The girl was one of Jason's college friends in the same department. With her good singing talent and beautiful face, Brena managed to become a popular figure and many men were eyeing her.

"I heard last time Brena was rumored to have a contract offer from one of the record companies, did things not go so well that she didn't have money for her mother's surgery?" Jason muttered, Brena's beauty was no joke, so it was hard for Jason not to feel sorry for her condition.

[Ding!]

[The system detects the Host's strong desire to help someone, this corresponds to the reason the Super Rich System was created.]

"What?" Jason stared at the system message without understanding.

[Ding!]

[1 trillion dollars successfully sent. Use this money to help someone and earn system points to exchange for all kinds of amazing things."]

Jason frowned, trying to fully understand what the system message meant to him.

After a moment of thought, Jason finally asked back to make sure, "So you're giving me money for me to use? If I help someone, I can get points to redeem... am I right?"

[Ding!]

[Right!]

"What kind of things can I get from redeeming points?" Jason asked, feeling a little doubtful if spending money on points was worth it.

[Ding!]

[System Store]

[-Painting Ability (30 minutes): 100 points]

[-Singing Ability (30 minutes): 100 points]

[-Karate Skill (30 minutes): 500 points]

[Tap to continue ....]

Jason's pupils dilated at the sight of it all, each ability was really not something that could be obtained with money. Moreover, Jason now has 1 trillion dollars.

"I'll do it, help someone? I'm good at that." Jason muttered while turning around, he was planning to go back to the hospital to meet someone. "Brena, your savior is coming soon ...."
