When Lola got to the office to submit the contract file the next morning, she was unnerved as she was met with smiles and pleasant greetings from her coworkers. As a pseudo-sales director, one of Lola’s jobs is to attend meetings with the other upper-ranked employees at Styleon Group. Though she was still on probation under the guidance and mentorship of Edmund Porsche, she was required to be there to learn the ropes of how these meetings go, including the topics that are discussed.Lola had been excited to attend this meeting, and she had even stayed up the previous night to study all the important aspects of what will be discussed at the meeting. Miles couldn’t help but chuckle as he recalled his interaction with Edmund. It was fun to silently watch as Edmund threatened to use the power of the company’s shareholders to trample him. Miles had not hesitated to encourage the sales director. In reality, he knew he was going to inevitably defeat Edmund Porsche in the most humiliating way possible.Currently, Miles had taken a secret route to his office, where he was now changing out of his casual outfit into an expensive suit. Everyone at the meeting was quite confused as to what exactly was going on. The new shareholder had walked into the meeting with sunglasses and a mask. Even his hair was styled in a way that the frame of his face couldn’t be seen clearly.After the greeting, everyone began feeling awkward but a look from Fisher kept everyone on their best behavior. They shouldn’t gawk at the new shareholder; he might get angry. As for Lola, she was seated further back thanks to Edmund who didn’t want this new shareholder to end up being impressed with her like his coworkers had at the past meeting with the upper ranks. Despite the distance, Lola couldn’t help but feel like the masked shareholder looked quite familiar. After a while, her eyes widened as it suddenly clicked.“Miles?! Could it really be you?!” Lola whispered this under her breath as she knew better than to disrupt the meeting. Her body shook and she squinted her eyes to get a better look. Edmund felt happy. He had been looking for a way to humiliate Lola in front of the new shareholder while also making himself look like a diligent mentor and sales director. He believed that he had struck two birds with one stone.Everyone turned their gaze in time to catch the masked shareholder calling Fisher over before he whispered something in his ear. Fisher stiffened as he nodded.Once the whispering between the two was over, everyone wondered what was going on, especially Lola who was certain that she might be thrown out of the meeting.Fisher spoke. “Mr. Edmund, you have disrupted this meeting without permission. You were trying to teach your underling the importance of etiquette at work, and yet, you have committed the same offense in the process. As of now, the shareholder desires that you leave this meeting right now.”Everyone, including Lola, was left in shock. Edmund was humiliated beyond words. Lola was on her way back to her office when her phone rang with a birthday ringtone. She quickly retrieved the phone to lower the volume as other employees around that area had been disturbed by it.Lola smiled awkwardly at them. “Sorry, just ignore it.” She checked the notification on her phone and a bright smile lit up her face. “It’s Dad’s birthday already? Woah! Time has flown by.” She walked all the way to her office before dialing her husband’s phone number.As soon as the meeting was over, Miles had returned to his private office with Fisher right behind him. Once they were inside the office, Miles gave the manager a few more instructions which involved overseeing the performance of each department in the company. The step towards elevating the status of Styleon Group Corporation was a big vision, and for that dream to come true, every single employee needed to put in their best. This was why Miles had compensated them with a raise and special additions in the benefits section.
