Chapter 8

Jane felt horrible about how she mistreated and spoke to Scot, she was overcome with remorse and had no idea how to approach him.

After a while, she mustered the confidence to approach Scot and beg forgiveness. As she walked around the workplace, she noticed Scot inside his father's office, with his father seated beside him.

"What do you want, betrayer?" Scot was enraged at the sight of Jane.

Jane promptly knelt in shame, holding Scot's left leg in tears, saying, "I'm sorry, my love, please forgive me." Jane begged, her eyes welling up with tears.

Scot displayed no remorse and was unmoved by Jane's sobs.

"So now I'm your love… did you consider love when you and your mother mistreated me?" Scot yelled angrily. His face was held hate but the pain somehow overcame it.

Jane was still on the floor, sobbing like a baby who had been thrashed by his mother. She refused to leave Scot without getting a positive response from him.

"It was the devil's work… my mother duped me," Jane explained bitterly.

Scot's eyes welled up with tears as he gazed intently into Jane's. He was bitter and depressed.

"I've always adored you… I begged you to be patient, but you pulled me into the muck and abandoned me." Scot took out his handkerchief and wiped away his tears.

Jane couldn't keep the anguish inside her, so she kept crying, her tears flowing like a great ocean, she was bitter and heartbroken.

"You were opposed to standing by him for better or worse, Jane" Mr. Donald kept shaking his head.

Jane was stunned and unable to express herself. She didn't do anything but cry and beg for pardon. She rolled on the floor, sobbing like a baby.

Scot kept looking down at his crying wife and his dad placed his hand on his shoulder to comfort him.

Mrs. Costa also approached Scot, begging on Jane's behalf. Scot sobbed as he remembered everything he had gone through at the hands of his wife and mother-in-law. He remembered days when he came home with no food to eat, days when he was barred outside and forced to sleep in the cold of the night, and days when Jane embarrassed him in front of neighbors.

Scot was bitter and heartbroken, and the tears continued to streamed down his cheeks.

Someone knocked on Mr. Donald's office door while everyone was inside.

"Come on in," he said.

Jason and two other security guards were there when the door opened. They all went on their knees as they entered the office, staring in the direction of Scot.

"I'm sorry for everything, Scot," Jason cried as he crawled on his knees towards Scot.

"I'm not sure what hit me… please accept my apologies, my friend." Jason begged.

Scot glared fiercely at Jason. He shifted his weight and turned to face Jason.

"You are not my friend, Jason," Scot said gently, attempting to keep his wrath in check.

Jason was so embarrassed that he couldn't raise his face. He couldn't bear looking Scot in the eyes.

"My good friend, I know you're mad at me, but please find a place in your heart to forgive me," Jason begged, his head on the floor.

Scot sat there shaking his head and moving his leg away from him.

"Jason, you were supposed to be my friend, but instead you stabbed me in the back," Scot yelled.

Jason couldn't say anything. His expression was one of sorrow and guilt.

"It's the work of the devil, my friend." Jason responded while still lying face down on the floor.

"Did the devil force you to take my wife away from me?" Scot yelled fiercely again, clutching Jason by the neck.

Scot tighten his hold on Jason’s neck but he his hold was released by the security men that were around.

Jason couldn't keep his emotions in check and burst into tears.

"I was blinded by jealousy, I was jealous of you and Jane's love," Jason admitted. Jane sobbed when she heard Jason's confession. She rushed over to Jason and tugged his shirt, bitter. She resented Jason for all that had occurred and regretted ever falling into Jason's trap.

Scot was still irritated and couldn't take the sight of everyone. He immediately fired Jason and the other two security guards who had beaten him. He also directed Jason to surrender the official car provided by the corporation as well as any other company properties in his possession.

He ordered the security guards to remove Jane from the workplace and warned her not to come close to him again. He also advised Jane to prepare for a divorce.

Jane begged, but Scot turned away. Security pulled her out, along with Jason and the other two security personnel.

When the other employees heard what had happened, they were all mute because they fear for what would happen next.

Scot turned to his father after Jason and the others had been forced out of the office.

His dad wanted to introduce him to everyone as the new head but he requested his father to postpone the introduction so he could go purchase some nice attire. Then, his father got him a ring that signifies the Frankstien family and commands respect wherever he goes.
