The night went by quickly, with Joanna falling asleep on her chair. Damien had to carry her to her bed while she wrapped her hands around him while relaxing her head on his chest. This gesture made Damien’s heart flutter, wanting him to confess his feelings to her.

While he laid her down on the bed, he told himself he would try to ensure she never fell asleep anywhere that was not her bed, so he would take her to her room while carrying her. He knew confessing to her was bad, as he was nothing but a mere employee of hers.

Moreover, he did not have the funds to be able to give her the life she truly deserves. She was a beauty and he could already guess that she grew up in affluence. He could not think of a time when she looked as though she did not have money.

It would be wrong to be working for her and still be harbouring such feelings for her. He could not leave her bed after lying down. His eyes kept on her, admiring how peaceful she was sleeping and resting. He adjusted some loose
