Chapter Sixty-nine

Honking horns filled the air of the rush hour traffic as Alex drove through it, his frustration gnawing at him.

He gripped the steering wheel in frustration, his knuckles turning white as he glanced at the dashboard clock.

It had only been barely thirty minutes since he dashed out of the house to the office, yet it felt like an eternity.

"Unbelievable," he muttered.

"These people drive like they're auditioning for bumper cars.”

He couldn't believe how clumsy his fellow commuters drove.

His phone buzzed twice with incoming calls.

He ignored them, muttering curses under his breath on seeing that they were from some shareholders of the company.

"What good would conversing with them be if they can't contribute to what has happened?" He muttered.

“All they want to hear is my assurance, like I've always done. Nothing else! Not even a piece of advice or suggestion.”

He slammed his fist on the steering wheel, navigating the congested lanes with a growing sense of urgency.
