Xavier attempted to bury himself in a stack of business documents, but his focus was split between the papers on his desk and the persistent thoughts of a certain woman who had been monopolizing his mind lately.Despite his best efforts to concentrate on the task at hand, Aurora's presence continued to occupy his mind, disrupting his focus and causing a cascade of distractions. Xavier found himself grappling with conflicting emotions, frustrated by the intrusion of thoughts about her when he should be focusing on his business affairs. Her wounded hand and the lie about never having a mobile before continued to replay in his mind like a broken record. It seemed unlikely to him that someone in this day and age could go without a mobile phone, especially considering what he knew about her. She seemed manipulative and driven by material things and money, making her claims dubious at best.Xavier couldn't shake off the feeling that Aurora was up to something. He was determined to unveil
Angela playfully nudged Aurora. "And I have a feeling you and I will become the best of friends in no time."Aurora's cheeks flushed with embarrassment, but beneath the blush, a genuine sense of happiness bloomed. For the first time in her life, someone seemed to genuinely want to be her friend.Aurora stood speechless.Angela glanced at her with feigned sadness, pretending to clutch her heart and pout. "Oh, you don't want to be my friend?" she teased.Aurora's stuttering voice betrayed her emotions as she replied, "Y-yes... I do, m-more t-than anything." Tears welled up in her eyes at the thought of finally having a friend. It was a longing she had carried for so long, suppressed by the strict rules imposed by Uncle William.Angela pulled Aurora into a warm embrace, her arms enveloping her in a comforting hug. "You're absolutely adorable, you know that?" she murmured, her voice filled with genuine affection. As Xavier observed the genuine affection between his sister and Aurora, a su
Aurora lifted her gaze, meeting Xavier's intense eyes. For a brief moment, they locked onto each other, a silent conversation passing between them. William's gaze bore into his son, causing Xavier's face to twist into a grimace.'Damn it. I really don't feel like dealing with anyone right now, especially Dad' he thought.Xavier had noticed his father's tendency to check up on him more frequently lately, often under the guise of work-related matters. Today, however, he had shown up at his home with Angela in tow.William, sensing a possible deception, spoke up skeptically, ""Are you sure it was just an accident?"As Xavier listened to his father's words, his small smile faded, and he regarded him with a somber expression. Though he knew his father was correct in his assumption, he would never admit it. "What exactly are you suggesting, Dad?" he asked, his tone growing terse as he locked eyes with William. "Exactly what I said" William replied with suspicion."It was an accident. I
Aurora stood in the kitchen, her hand submerged in cool water, desperately trying to soothe the burning sensation. Her eyes welled up with tears, and her mind spun with thoughts of despair. Life had only gotten worse for her. She had believed that her previous life under under Thomas's roof was unbearable, but now it seemed that being Xavier's wife offered no respite.Lost in her thoughts and the throbbing pain in her hand, Aurora was startled by the sound of the door opening. Maggie entered the kitchen with a sigh. "I'm back my dear, do you need any....," she remarked, but her voice trailed off as her eyes immediately fell upon Aurora's injured hand. Concern etched on her face, she hurried over to her side."OMG! What happened, dear?" Maggie asked, worry lacing her voice. "Did you burn yourself?"Aurora sniffled, blinking away tears, and replied, "Ummm."Y-yes, it was j-just some b-boiling w-water. I a-accidentally spilled it o-on my h-hand when I p-picked up the pan."Maggie's exp
Soft rays of sunlight filtered through the gaps in the partially drawn curtains, gently caressing Aurora's face and coaxing her from her slumber. With a slight crinkle on her forehead, she slowly opened her eyes, revealing a mixture of exhaustion and resilience. Despite the painful events of the previous night and Xavier's cruel behavior, an unexpected smile graced her lips. The comfort of the bed had provided her with a restful sleep she hadn't experienced in ages.Reluctantly, she relinquished the cozy embrace of the bed and made her way to the bathroom. As she faced her reflection in the mirror, her own eyes stared back at her, a reflection of the turmoil she had endured. Puffy eyes and traces of redness served as a visible reminder of the tears she had shed. Sighing, she set about her morning routine, determined to face the day ahead.Once she was ready, she descended the stairs and spotted Maggie entering through the main door. The sight of her brought a renewed brightness to A
"If you break any one of these rules, there will be severe consequences. Do you understand?" he asserted, his voice filled with a chilling seriousness. She nodded her head frantically, not wanting to provoke his anger any further. Her whispered response, barely audible, confirmed her compliance. "I-I un-understand," she managed to utter.A sinister smile spread across his face, a twisted satisfaction evident in his eyes. "Good girl," he remarked, relishing in her submission. After a brief pause, he continued, his voice dripping with condescension. "Not quite what you had expected, was it? You thought you could control my life, my home. But here you are, bound by my rules that will dictate your every move." He let out a mocking laugh, reveling in his words.Xavier's heart skipped a beat as he caught Aurora's teary gaze, her doe eyes piercing through him."Fuck!" he muttered under his breath. He shook his head, his expression turning cold as he met her gaze."And now the rules have bee
Now, if you can manage to behave yourself, there are some very simple rules you should have no trouble following," he stated with a mysterious undertone."Now, listen carefully. I want to establish some ground rules," he declared, his voice low and commanding, contrasting with the soft caress of his finger against her neck. She felt a shiver run down her spine as he spoke, his words laced with an undeniable authority that demanded obedience. "R-rules?" she asked timidly, her gaze lifting to meet Xavier's."Yes my dear Aurora!" he said leaning towards her.The sound of her name on his lips sent an unexpected shiver down her spine, and a sudden warmth flooded her cheeks. His proximity seemed to heighten her senses, his body radiating heat that made the cold wall inconsequential. His finger traced a path along her jaw and down her throat, leaving her breathless. "Rules that you will follow to the tee... do you understand?"The air felt thick with tension, and any resistance within her
"Wife!" Xavier's voice sliced through the air, a command that resonated with authority. At the sound of her name, she pivoted on her heels, acknowledging his summoning call.Aurora nervously swallowed, unable to look away from Xavier, her husband, as he approached her. His deliberate strides seemed purposeful, resembling a predator closing in on its prey with calculated precision, leaving Aurora slightly scared.Despite his undeniable allure, Aurora couldn't shake the truth that there wasn't a woman on this planet who wouldn't desire his attention. Yet, she understood, the attention he sought from her was far from admiring. It was fueled by anger, a sentiment that set her apart in his relentless pursuit."There's something we need to discuss. Follow me," Xavier snapped, his voice tinged with anger, as he stormed passed her, to the grand floor-to-ceiling window.Aurora, taken aback by Xavier's tone and his evident anger, followed timidly behind, her steps hesitant and her pulse quicken
A short while later, dinner was ready, and the aroma of delicious food wafted through the house.Harry's smile radiated geniality, masking the snake coiled beneath. They had adjourned to the dining room, and the conversation swiftly delved into the joint hotel project between their companies. Xavier's distaste curled as he observed Harry's eyes lingering on Aurora, visible from where they sat. Fury reignited in his chest, a fire that desired nothing more than to ensure Harry left with no bones intact.Unfortunately, metaphorical ties bound Xavier's hands, and until he found a way to untie them, he had to play nice. Harry, a big client and a friend of sorts, elicited no friendship from Xavier at the moment."It could take up to six months," Xavier stated, wrapping his hand around the whisky glass tightly, momentarily imagining it as Harry's neck. However, Harry paid scant attention to Xavier's words, his lustful gaze persistently fixed on Aurora."I can't believe you married someone

I'm so tired of waiting on this book smh. I love it but the author is taking too long to update and it's causing readers to lose interest. Author please don't let your readers hang there like that. please try your best to update as soon as possible.
Coco
This is ridiculous, this novel needs to be update at least 4 times a week, if not more. Also, the way you write a sentence please stop rewriting it saying the same thing over and over once is enough. I get it, I’m sure the other readers do as well. Thanks
Debra
This needs an update. Can’t believe we’re left hanging like this.

So far I think Xavier is a little over the top with the behavior and attitude. His father, William is a little too late for the strong arm tactics, but he has a lot to make up for. As for, Aurora and the family she has been stuck with it seems awful like Cinderella without the stepsisters.
