“You’re my wife, Rebecca,” Benjamin followed her and kept her voice low. “How can I stab you in the back?”

“Go and tell those words to the millions of wives who get betrayed by their husbands,” Rebecca snorted.

“I don’t know about others, but I would never stab you or anyone in the back,” Benjamin said. “We still don’t know much about each other, so it’s fine if we misunderstand each other, but… I think your sister is probably more hurt by what you said. I think you should-”

“Don’t tell me about my own sister who I have known for quarter a decade,” Rebecca blurted.

Benjamin went silent.

“I still can’t believe that I married someone whom I know nothing about,” Rebecca muttered under her breath. “I was sure that I wasn’t making an emotional decision, but now, I wish I never married you. Maybe, I should have just told my family what happened, and they would have beaten you black and blue, and thrown you in jail. You would have spent a decade or two there.”
